Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and Brétignolles-sur-Mer are near Les Sables-d'Olonne on the Atlantic coast.

Sandy beaches stretch along 12 kms of dunes edged by a forest of maritime pine. Saint-Hilaire meets Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie via the Sion coastal road, a listed site that offers views onto lovely sandy creeks. The chic resort of Saint-Gilles is a lively little town and a popular destination for sardine fishing. A little further south, Brétignolles, welcomes families and its rolling waves make it one of the most popular spots in the region for surfers.
